Spawforths urbanism division is made up of a team of chartered town planners, architects, urban designers and landscape architects. The group is headed up by the practice's managing director, Adrian Spawforth.

Adrian Spawforth BA(Hons), BArch(Hons), MA, ARB, RIBA, MRTPI, is an Urbanist, a Chartered Town Planner and a Chartered Architect with specialisms in masterplanning, development frameworks and regeneration. He is also the Managing Director of Spawforths where he has worked since its formation in 1988. Over the last few years Adrian has worked for a variety of public and private sector clients including Yorkshire Forward, Cumbria Tourist Board/North West Development Agency, UK Coal, and a large number of national and regional house builders in the preparation of strategic masterplans and development frameworks. He has recently completed masterplans for Windermere and Bowness, the Isle of Axholme, the Colne Valley, Bedale, Penistone and Otley.
