Summary
The initial reserved matters submission for a building with a floor area of 40,598 square metres to be used as warehouse/distribution space has been approved subject to completion of a Section 106 Agreement.
This application is a key milestone in the delivery of this regionally significant employment site, which will generate the following benefits: delivery of quality employment space; opening a strategic site on the West Coast Railway Line and the A500; and creation of a freight village comprising of a landscaped warehouse and distribution park with industrial and office development.
Basford West has the benefit of outline planning permission for warehousing and distribution; manufacturing; and light industrial/office development.
Basford West is classified as a Regional Strategic Site in the Regional Economic Strategy and has been identified as one of eleven strategic sites in the region since 2001.
