In October 2009, Spawforths were commissioned jointly by two client bodies to investigate the opportunities that might be created by the synergy of their two adjacent landholdings.
The Nine Lakes Forest Park proposal is for a large, high quality and regionally significant sports, leisure and tourism destination that builds on the existing environmental, cultural and locational assets of the area, uniting the three historic estates of Chevet, Waterton and Nostell to create a single, public park extending to approximately 32 square kilometres, 3200 hectares or approximately 8000 acres.
