Spawforths, on behalf of a group of landowners, are promoting a major urban extension to East Wakefield, which will secure significant regeneration benefits both for the City and for the district as a whole. Wakefield East will deliver jobs, homes, community facilities and a new by-pass and has been identified within the Preferred Options Site Specifics DPD as a potential allocation for future development.
Significantly, Spawforths identified the opportunity, masterplanned the scheme proposal and secured its draft allocation in the Wakefield Local Development Framework.
The practice is now undertaking extensive stakeholder and community consultation and delivery testing to allow the project to progress towards submission of a planning application in 2011.
